A Shared Musical Experience
Your baby’s musicality is just waiting to blossom, and now is the time to give it the loving care it needs. Our Mixed-age Class makes it easy—and fun! The hallmark of the Music Together program, this class gives children from birth to age 5 the environment they need to grow and develop while interacting both socially and musically with other children of varying ages. And because babies spend most of their time listening and observing, it’s the perfect way to introduce them to the joys of making music. To help you make the most of it, you’ll receive our special “Babies Guide for Parents in Mixed-age Classes” with your music and other parent education materials.
Mixed Ages: Variety Is the Spice of Your Child’s Life!
Child development researchers have found that grouping together children of varying ages fosters natural, family-style learning. Children—even babies!—are inspired and stimulated through interaction with peers of different ages: younger children watch and imitate older ones, older children lead younger ones, and adults are happy because their children are in class together. Your baby will engage at their own level, vocalizing, moving, listening, observing, and exploring musical instruments. And any or all of your child's caregivers—parents, grandparents, nannies—can come share in the experience, both in class and at home. The whole family is welcome!
