The SKILLS workshop for in-person events in September 2025 will be:
From Circle Dances to Free Dances: How to Create and Lead Large Movement
In this highly interactive workshop, we’ll review the core types of large movement experiences we facilitate in our classes and why they’re all important experiences for young children in primary music development (and the grownups who love them!) We’ll explore how to make the process of designing these activities easy and efficient and we’ll play and practice ways that work to bring our plans to life in the classroom. Leading successful large movement activities in class doesn’t require a degree in choreography and dance. Phew! The better equipped we are, the more at ease we’ll be in guiding these experiences for our families. This workshop is designed for teachers with all levels of experience. Come dressed ready to move, learn, and have fun!
In-person Songs and Skills* Workshops (core collections only) for fall, winter, and spring collections are offered on a request basis only beginning Fall 2025.
Workshop leaders Linda Brasaemle, Susan Darrow, Deanna deCampos, Kayla Hughes, Jackie Jacobs, LeAnne Korbel, Sarah Orfe, Melanie Ron, Anne Sailer, and Ana Treviño-Godfrey are master teachers and leaders with extraordinarily experience (20+ years of teaching) in this work. All are Cert II and have been through extensive training to become and maintain workshop leader status over the years. You’re in the best of hands with these amazing women.
