Parking:

Free parking is available at the CERES Car Park on the grounds of CERES environmental park.  Drive through the mosaic gates on the corner of Stewart and Roberts Streets and into the car park on the left hand side.

Directions:

You can get to CERES via foot, bicycle path, tram, bus or by car.   Our address CERES Community Environment Park, Cnr Roberts and Stewart Streets, Brunswick East, Victoria Melways REF, map 30 B7.

Tram

Take the Number 96 tram to East Brunswick from the city (from Bourke St, travelling up Nicholson St) all the way to the end of the line (the intersection of Blyth and Nicholson Streets). CERES is about a 5 minute walk from the tram stop. Turn right down Blyth St (which becomes Arthurton Rd) and take the second street on the left (Roberts St) – CERES is about 100m up Roberts St on the right – you can’t miss it. Turn right at Lee St and walk in.

Bus

Take the 503 Essendon to East Brunswick bus. Departs from Essendon Station and runs via Russell St, Napier St, Brewster St, Pascoe Vale Rd, Albion Street, Nicholson St, Stewart St, Roberts St and Arthurton Rd to the terminus at the corner of Blyth and Ryan St. Get off at the Lee St stop and you’re right out the front.

Car

We have some parking on site but it can be busy, particularly after 9am on Wednesday and Saturday when our market is on. Parking is also available on side streets (please read the street signs) and in the Cretan Brotherhood car park on Stewart Street.

Lodging:

These 4 hotels are in the city that are within walking distance to the tram stop on the Nicholson Line. The links include the map so you can see how close they are to Nicholson Street. Any other hotels in this part of the city would also be fine.

Melbourne – things to do/see

Eureka Tower is a must see for anyone in the city. It offers stunning views from the highest observation deck in the southern hemisphere, at 297 metres/88 floors.

Southbank – along the river, lots of lovely cafes and restaurants. You can also take a sightseeing riverboat.

St Kilda Pier – fairly close to you in Brighton.  I love St. Kilda. Within the city but right on the beach. Cool pubs and theatres. The cafes on Ackland Street in St Kilda are definitely a must too. At dusk, when the fairy penguins come in. Most people head to Phillip Island (2 hour trip) to see them but apparently they come in here (not many people know this)

Just out of Melbourne

  • Healesville Sanctuary. http://www.zoo.org.au/healesville (located about 1hour and 15 minutes outside Melbourne by car but not so easy to get to with public transport – still trying to work it out) This is an awesome wild life centre full of Australian animals.

 

  • There are numerous wineries and wine tours you can do around the Yarra Valley. My favourite is http://www.chandon.com.au  . Gorgeous wine tasting and cellar door food.
